Somehow we have found a way to cut out the wait time wherever possible. The problem with this is the overwhelming lack of process. The lack of hiddenness where history is made with God; the disregard for covenant and commitment; the resistance to pruning and growth; the misunderstanding of reverence and honor; and an unwillingness to sit in His presence until He tells you to get up.
Our roots need time to grow deep into the soil before we will ever see nourishing fruit. We cannot genetically modify our way into the purpose God has called us to. He has a plan and a purpose for each of us, but if we try to attain it before we are ready—if we don’t take the time to be planted and hidden in the soil, we may realize we’ve traded our inheritance for a bowl of soup.
There is always a process. Many times, that process is met with kicking and screaming; it’s resisted up until the last possible moment when we can’t ignore it any longer.
But what if we heard His whispered invitation into that process? What if we heard his gentle call, “ Seek my face…” (Psalm 27:8) before He had to bring out the megaphone?
7 days of words won’t change your life, but my hope is that through this little journey, you might feel encouraged to embrace the wait.
